“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” The wise and elegant Audrey Hepburn would have turned 83 this weekend.
We should all celebrate her birthday by spending hours in jewellery stores and playing guitar outside our buildings. We should wear beautiful clothes and run through town with party masks on. We should go on fun dates to our favourite places, and do things we’ve never done before. Go to a party, make new friends. Break up over drama with a wealthy man, get back together in the rain. Fall in love with a nameless cat. Believe that life can be a fairytale. …Or, at least that this weekend can be.
Too busy for an adventure that requires leaving the computer? Watch Ms Hepburn sing Moon River, and enjoy a brief moment of magic.
For those of you lucky enough to have Saturday free to do lovely things, and for those of you who haven’t yet seen it, watch Audrey in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It will make your day feel a little more glamorous and carefree.
In other news of the day, tonight is the biggest full moon of the year. Make sure to go outside and stare up at the sky!
