Ted.com

If you haven’t heard of TED, you’ve been missing out. I watch TED like I watch movies and series. It’s such a great resource for new ideas and knowledge in general. I guarantee that if watch a talk you will learn something and probably be inspired. Also the greatest part is that it covers such a wide range of topics that there is something for everyone.

TED is a non-profit devoted to ideas worth spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing people together from the areas of Technology, Entertainment and Design. There are now two annual conferences that inspired thinkers go to and share their ideas with one another.

TED’s concept is that an idea can change attitudes, lives and ultimately the world. I believe strongly in the power of an idea and with the technology of the internet, an idea can be on the other side of the world in a second.

TED started off as a private conference where only people who attended had the exposure to the ideas and knowledge at the conference.TED.com was launched in 2007 with the concept of spreading the talks to the world. They now have 900+ talks with more being added every day. There is a translation project where people volunteer to translate the talks and make subtitles available so that people all over the world have access.
